Southern Indiana Area Manager Tim Sanders celebrated his 40th service anniversary on Jan. 21! After serving in the U.S. Navy, Tim began his career in damage prevention as a locate technician for SM&P Utility Resources, which merged with Central Locating Services in 2008 to form USIC. He has served as District Manager/Area Manager of Southern Indiana for 35 years.
In 1985, when Tim began locating, tickets were submitted by fax. Over the years, he has experienced significant changes driven by the advancement of technology, with USIC at the forefront of leading the evolution of the industry.
Throughout, his career, Tim has exemplified USIC’s core values of safety, pride, integrity, respect, and excellence, creating a legacy of invaluable contributions to the company and all who have had the privilege to call him a team member, leader, and friend.
“I love this job and can’t wait to get up every morning and be in the field with my team. Every day that I can teach someone something, I feel that’s it’s a great accomplishment. I have learned something from everyone I have worked with over the years. No one knows everything, but collectively, we know a lot.”
As he prepares to retire January 31, Tim is looking forward to starting his days with a brisk cup of coffee and the morning news. As a husband, father of seven, and grandfather of 13, his days will surely be full.
