USIC Appoints Richard Batelaan as President and Chief Executive Officer

USIC, a leader in underground utility damage prevention, today announced the appointment of Richard Batelaan as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Batelaan, who currently serves as USIC’s Chief Operating Officer, will assume the role as part of a leadership transition, succeeding Yuvbir Singh.

Mr. Batelaan has played a central role in leading USIC’s day‑to‑day operations, with responsibility for field service, quality, safety, IT, fleet, supply chain, operations planning, and overall operational performance across the company’s nationwide footprint. As COO, he has worked closely with USIC’s leadership team to enhance operational discipline, digitally transform operations and strengthen the company’s ability to serve its customers.

Prior to joining USIC, Mr. Batelaan held senior operational leadership roles across the telecommunications and information technology sectors, including serving as Executive Vice President of North America Operations at Lumen Technologies. He brings more than three decades of experience leading largescale, field-based operations and service delivery organizations.
