USIC's Underground Utility Locating Vocational Training Provides Hands-on Experience

Hinds students apply classroom knowledge with actual locating call.

Recently, Mayor Todd Jones needed the underground utilities at his home located and called 811 to have the work done. The call gave Hinds Career Center students in the Underground Utility Detection program a great opportunity to gain on-the job experience. The students pictured went to the mayor's home to apply their classroom knowledge and lab experience by performing an actual locate call.
