Technician Ed Batson Recognized by North Carolina 811 as Damage Prevention Most Valuable Professional

USIC Senior Lead Technician Ed Batson was recognized by North Carolina 811 with the Damage Prevention Most Valuable Professional award.


Ed’s commitment to damage prevention includes regular attendance at Jones/Onslow UCC meetings and welcoming new contractors to the area. He helped spearhead the successful completion of the Piedmont Natural Gas gas main project on Hwy 17 in Onslow County with no damages and played a pivotal role in the swift completion of the Duke Energy fiber build project, which spanned the entire county and was completed three months ahead of schedule.


"His leadership, expertise, and unwavering dedication were instrumental in the project’s success," according to North Carolina 811. "This award is a testament to Ed’s exceptional contributions to the field of damage prevention. Ed Batson is a true hero, and his impact on the community will be felt for years to come."
